Dance is among the oldest form of art that is highly revered by a lot of different cultures. To some this is primarily a symbolism of their tradition and is mandated to be learned. Others see it more like in its religious sense. Whatever it connotes, its undeniable that the impact it has brought is universal.

In its traditional roots, you cannot just perform this without wearing something fancy. The clothing are packed with ornaments and colors that are sure to captivate the eyes of the viewers. To experts, this is one reason why its mostly females who are tasked to perform. They are said to portray love and beauty better than men do.

Just like any other things in culture, its practice has also decline. At some point, it was seen as non existent and might even be discouraged in various places. But when restoration and freedom started to become popular idea, its name has been revived and is now practiced by different people.

The interest on this craft is no longer just limited in India. Now, we are seeing schools and training centers from all over the United States and even in other continents that teach this.
