How To Pick The Right Chilled Drink Dispenser For Your Entertaining Needs

By Tammie Caldwell

Home entertaining can be fun but challenging. One struggle that many hosts have is how to keep hot drinks hot and cold beverages cold. If you love the idea of being able to serve drinks at the right temperatures, you may want to consider buying a chilled drink dispenser for your home or business. Here is what you need to know.

There are many different models on the market to choose from and the prices can vary quite a bit from model to model. By knowing which features to look for, it can help you narrow down your choices and pick the model that is right for you.

The number of guests you will serve is important too. If you buy a unit that is too small, you may find that you need to refill the reservoir several times during your event. This may not bother some hosts especially if you plan to switch out the type of beverage you serve several times. If you want to make sure that you buy a unit you only need to fill once, however, a larger reservoir may be an important feature you should search for.

Some people will prefer to serve pop or other carbonated beverages. This may mean that they look for a different type of server than individuals who are serving flat drinks would look for. Remember that pop tends to go flat the longer it is exposed to the air. If you love fizzy drinks, look for models that allow your drinks to keep their bubbles for as long as possible.

You may also want to think about how many drinks you will be serving at one time. This will help you decide whether you want a dispenser with a single reservoir, or one that will allow you to serve multiple types of beverages at the same time. Keep in mind that models with more than one reservoir will be more expensive and will also take up more space on your counter and while you are storing it.

The length of time that a particular beverage will need to stay cold is also important. There are units that are insulated so that temperatures inside do not change as quickly. There are also units that plug in and which can keep the liquids inside chilled to a specific temperature. You may want to consider whether you will have a place to plug in your machine and this can influence whether or not you purchase a particular model.

Finding a variety of units is not hard especially if you know where to look. Although they can be found online you may want to look in stores as well so that you can see the units in person. If you do decide to look in stores, check out both restaurant supply stores as well as kitchen equipment stores and department stores. Then you can get a feel for the different prices that can be attached to these units.

Taking the time to consider which model you want may end up saving you time and money in the end. Then, once you have your unit all set up you can enjoy a cool, refreshing drink even on very warm days.
