How Vitamin D3 Can Improve Your Health And Wellness When You Use Higher Amounts

By Javier Mcnear

There are a great number of ways in which vitamin D3 promotes your good health. There are overly complicated explanations the average person does not need to understand. The important fact is that it is the one nutrient that can be manufactured by the body when it gets enough UVB rays of the sun. However, in fear of skin cancer people are not getting it from the sun. For that reason they need to consume a Vitamin D3 Supplement to maintain good health.

It makes a valid contribution to bone building and life sustaining bone health. Another contribution it makes is preventing fractures, especially in the elderly population. As people grow older there may be a reduction in bone density that presents a danger of fracture.

It has always been surmised that the lack of sunlight exposure in winter causes depression. Now lack of this is also linked to cancer, insulin resistance and macular degeneration. It is therefore, important to determine whether you are deficient in this nutrient.

When sufficient time is spent in the sun there may still be a lack of this nutriment. Those people growing older will require additional amounts of it to keep the same levels in their blood during the younger years of their lives. Researchers have discovered that the dose now recommended is way below what is actually needed.

The results of scientific research indicate the need for higher amounts to be recommended by the government. At minimum a thousand IU should be required. The current recommendations are inadequate. The elderly should take double the recommended dosage.

Adding higher amounts of this nutriment to the diet will ensure the maintenance of good health. The morbidity rate that is connected to lower amounts can then be reduced. Taking as high a dose as two-thousand IU each day is not too much. That is now reported to be an upper limit of Vitamin D3 that is safe.
