Get Rid Of Your Problem Pimples With These Tips

By Angela Levine

Pimples is by far the most embarrassing aspect of being a teenager. For most teens, it can be the bane of their existence. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to prevent major outbreaks. Here are just a few tips that you can use to get those pesky and embarrassing zits under control.

Avoid spreading pimples by not popping or forcing your pimples to drain. If you pop your pimples, you are spreading the very infection that causes the breakouts. This infection then spreads to other parts of your face causing more breakouts in more areas. Popping zits also can cause unnecessary redness, swelling and permanent scarring, so it's best to leave them be and let them go away on their own or with zits medication.

Pimples scars can be eliminated via a surgery, such as laser surgery. This is something that has to be suggested by your dermatologist though. Basically, they use a gentle laser and go over the scars. Through repeated treatments, you will start to see these scars diminish and go away for long periods of time.

Try using strawberries to combat your zits outbreaks. Some people have some success using facial masks to prevent or even get rid of pimples. Try making strawberries into a face mask. Puree and mix them with a bit of sour cream. Leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off. Repeat the process weekly.

To avoid the chances of creating more zits problems for yourself, avoid touching your face. Touching your face transfers dirt and bacteria to your pores, and can also cause already irritated areas to become even more irritated. Also avoid popping any pimples or blemishes with your bare fingers, as they will only make matters worse.

Add a dab of toothpaste onto a stubborn zit before you go to bed at night. The toothpaste will dry out during the night, drying the zit along with it. Make sure that you first clean and pat dry the area before applying and always use toothpaste and not a gel.

Everything in life that you do should be in moderation, as this also applies to the foods that you put into your body. If you ever eat too much, you will not only get an upset stomach, but the excess nutrients in your body can cause a flare up of acne. Always eat proportionally to maintain healthy skin.

Try to avoid going to bed with makeup on ever again. Sleeping in your makeup clogs pores and doesn't allow the skin to breath, causing pimples that could have been easily avoided. It also rubs off onto your sheets and pillows, leaving behind bacteria and oils that you'll more than likely lay back in the next night.

Something very important to keep in mind about skin care is to not use too much makeup. It clogs the pores of your skin, making it more difficult for your skin to breathe, and exacerbates blackheads, whiteheads, and other inflammation. It is best to wear as little as you can.

Often foods will be the culprit of the acne that you have on your skin. If you notice that a specific food is causing your pimples, try to limit it as much as possible. Ice cream, milk, cheese and other dairy products have been shown to increase zits.

Sunscreens can contribute to breakouts, but it's still important to wear it since the sun can wreak havoc as well! Use an all natural sunscreen and try and look for ingredients that may not irritate you. Everybody is different, so you may need to compare brands before finding a perfect match. Protecting your skin daily also slows down wrinkle development.

Getting a little bit of sunshine every day helps prevent pimples. Sunshine helps create Vitamin D in the body, which is an essential nutrient for the skin. However, do not stay in the sun too long as this can create negative results for the skin. Taking a ten minute walk a day is sufficient.

In conclusion, pimples can be a real pain. However, by using some of the tips mentioned above, you can be on your way to flawless skin. Besides, being a teen is hard enough, without pimples. It sometimes takes trying a few different things before you discover just what is best for your own particular skin type but hopefully, pimples is one less thing for you to obsess over.
