Most adventurers find thrill in walking on forest trails alone. This might be scary for many but it gave way to the discovery of edible wild plants. Today, there are a lot of people who are utilizing it in their homes. And unlike before, many feel like they are more comfortable exploring alone because of the fact that these herbs are just somewhere. So even if they run out of supplies, they would never go hungry.

Knowing the names of these herbs would be easy. It is identifying them that is tricky and if you pick the wrong one, you might get poisoned. The good thing about this is the fact that most people are recognizing the benefits that it has not only for survival. Actually, most of the households in some parts of California feel like wild edibles for sale have become a staple in their grocery list.

You have to know how these species look like before you can indulge. There are risks involve in this and making the wrong decision might be the reason why you would not survive. The good thing about wild plants that are edible is the fact that they are rich in a particular vitamin or nutrients that are really beneficial for the human system.

To help you in picking out the beneficial and consumable ones, there are actually a checklist that you can refer to. According to experts, it would be best to avoid plants that has a milky juice consistency. This is because they are more likely poison substances. For those who are attracted to plants that have hairs, better leave them alone before you get into trouble. First up is asparagus. Today, it is a very well known vegetable. It is usually used in salads and as a starter or a side dish. The usual partner for a half cooked asparagus is steak. Chicken weeds belong to the family of grasses. You can get a lot of vitamins from this plant. But when you pick it out, you need to be very careful. There is another grass that looks exactly like it called splurge. But the difference is the sap. Splurge is a poisonous grass.

The leaves of the dandelion is not just for the health of the plants but for humans as well. You can eat the young leaves without boiling it. And this is an option for the older leaves as well. But you have to tolerate the bitter taste. To remove whatever taste it has, you can put it on boiling water.
