Tips In Buying Bicycle Jersey Men

By Claudine Hodges

Aside from their bicycle, nothing matters more to cyclist than their clothing. And we are not just talking about any kind of clothing here. We are talking about those standard recommended ones that a cyclist has to wear especially during competitions.

If you watch cycling competitions on television and online, you will notice how cyclists look like with their complete protection gear and jersey. All of the things that they wear has their own specific functions. Nothing more, nothing less. If it is your first time to buy a bicycle jerseys men, you deserve to know these tips.

One, go for the jersey the fits your body perfectly. If it is maximum comfort that you are looking for cycling, loose sizes are out of the equation. What you need are those that hug your body well, but not so tight that you cannot breathe. This will ensure that you will not have problems later on when winds start to slap you on the road. Loose jersey can weigh heavy when you are biking against the direction of the wind.

Two, select the fabric that has a nice feel. If the fabric of your choice looks great but feels hard or itchy, then drop it. Looks may matter, but they are not the most important factor. Choose the fabric that is comfortable, not to thin as to make you feel cold. When choosing the right fabric, you may want to consider the season as well.

Third, check the pockets. You may not find this as important as the other components, but pockets are highly usable especially on long distance cycling or competitions. A secure, tight pocket is good for keeping chocolate bars, keys and other things that you wish to bring while on the road.

Choose your preferred zipper. Either of the two types, full or the partial zipper works fine. This is a matter of preference and comfort. Those who want more ventilation especially during the hot season will go for the full type. Those who do not want the hassle of zipping and unzipping will prefer the ease provided by the partial one.

Fifth, is the color. Jerseys come in different color and unless the competition that you are joining is requiring you to wear a specific one, the choice is basically yours. If you are cycling in the evening however, it is best to wear something of neon shade or something that is easy to see in dark environment.

Six, compare the price. Take some time to canvass and go to different stores. This will give you an idea which among them offers the most affordable price with the best quality.

If you are still not sure on what to get, feel free to bring a close friend with you when you shop. He will be able to give you an honest opinion on what looks good and what not. Pick the right one.
