Taking A Look At Seasonal Candy Treats

By Katina Brady

Regardless what holiday you are celebrating, most folks gather with family and friends to enjoy the foods and sweets of the season. Most people will agree that seasonal candy is one of the best parts of the celebration. When you think of every holiday you often will picture the special candies of the season that have become symbolic.

For example, jelly beans, cream filled eggs, little brightly colored marshmallow chicks, or chocolate eggs bring to mind the Easter season. If you celebrate the holiday you have no doubt grown up enjoying these treats during the celebration. What makes these sugary delights even more pleasurable is that they are only around for a short time.

During the winter holidays folks are able to purchase a large variety of candies. These sweet treats include peppermint bark, candy canes. Ribbon candy, and chocolate bells wrapped in bright colored silver. A lot of folks will choose a variety of these treats because they will not be around for very long. Because these sweets will be off the shelves until the next year, you might want to freeze extra.

Valentines Day is well known for giving boxes of delicious chocolates to your loved one. If you think the marshmallow chicks have disappeared you will be pleased to see them back in the shape of a heart. You will even be able to buy that yummy chocolate shaped like small hearts and wrapped in pretty red foil paper.

In addition, there are a number of Valentine sweets designed to grab the attention of children. Most children love getting the colored sweet hearts that come stamped with messages. Kids also are thrilled when they receive the little heart boxes of chocolate samples that have characters on them. And for the teen who has a special someone, chocolate roses make a great choice.

Halloween tends to bring every kind of treat available to the stores. The shelves are filled with a huge variety of hard candies and chocolates in a selection of different sizes. Chocolate bars can be purchased in jumbo, regular, mini, and bite size. You will also have the choice to buy these goodies in the regular sized bags of the special large size. If you look closely you will see that most of the popular flavors from various holidays have been reshaped into scary ghosts and goblins.

Not many people are able to resist the corn shaped sweets of the season. The tasty treat is now available in chocolate. Also, those little orange pumpkin shapes are made with the same recipe as he corn. These two specialty treats are ideal for the Thanksgiving and Halloween season because of their colors and shape.

When the season is over the candies are taken off the shelves of the stores. Even though these sweets are only available once a year there are enough holidays over the months to keep you in candy delights. Additionally, when you pay attention you will notice that your favorite flavors are often reshaped to fit the particular holiday. So in reality you can enjoy your favorite treat year round.
